HORIZON SHIELD US Free teardown

Teardown Board

The Teardown Board shows anonymous Quote Teardowns that U.S. homeowners chose to post: the trade, the state, the total, how the money splits by kind of line, what was missing, and the questions they sent back.

A teardown reads the lines and asks what is missing. It is not a fairness verdict, an inspection or a bid, and a card on this board says nothing about any contractor. HORIZON SHIELD is paid by homeowners only and takes no contractor fees.

Three printed contractor quotes side by side on a table, with lines circled and one highlighted, beside a pen and a phone calculator
  1. 01A homeowner runs a free teardown of a quote
  2. 02They choose to post the anonymous card
  3. 03A person reviews it before it appears

On a card

Numbers and questions, no people

Each card is written from the teardown, not copied from the quote. Wording that quoted a line is replaced, and questions that named a line are left out.

What a card shows
  • Trade and state
  • Total and number of lines
  • Share of the total by kind of line
  • Flags: what was missing or unclear
  • Questions for the contractor
What a card never shows
  • Names of the homeowner or the contractor
  • Street address or ZIP code
  • The text of the quote lines
  • The uploaded photo or PDF
  • Any verdict that the price is fair or unfair
